why am I numb inside?

Your Question: If you are still active in answering questions here is one for you. I’m just about to become a full time stock trader and I’m a bit concerned. When I make a purchase I’m now completely numb to it. When I first started playing with the market every purchase almost made me sick from worry. Did I pick the right entry, what if I’m wrong etc… I have tried to teach many people to get involved in the market and I usually describe myself as dead inside now. Almost robotic when taking a position and anticipating a given sell price. I tell them to try to be like that as well, take the emotion out. My question is (is this normal to feel like I do?) I only invest in stocks but so many do crypto or riskier options perhaps your take on it might provide a bit of guidance to others feeling what I’m feeling. I know your dad was a stock analyst perhaps that adds more perspective. Perhaps it is just natural progression through a given pursuit but to me as I plan to do this as a main source of income I wonder if perhaps I should have more feelings and emotions involved or if the lack of them presently is yielding the success. Curious to hear your take. Perhaps it is a feeling not just meant for a financial type forum maybe you could frame it as a larger aspect of whether it’s good or not to be able to take emotion out of big decisions? That might be more easily relatable to a larger amount of readers. Thanks for your time.

Hi, thanks for your question...I think as long as this feeling as you describe "dead inside" is serving you then in my view it's a good thing. You've probably gotten desensitized to the ups and down of trading after doing it for a while..  Also when making business decisions as you know it's best to take the emotion out of the equation… So good luck and I'm glad you're not doing it for the adrenaline because what goes up eventually must come down. Sounds like your nervous system has regulated and that's a good thing. Take care!
